It is important that you know how to properly store your meat products to avoid contamination and spoilage. Remember that you have to keep the freezer in the right temperature to ensure that all stored items will be well-preserved.

Tip #1: Remove the meat from its packaging and cut it into portions.
This is an important step to help you maximize the available space inside the freezer. Make sure that you have divided the meat into portions before re-wrapping it. Once done, wrap the portioned meat in a plastic wrap or foil, and then place it inside a freezer bag. Make sure to securely wrap the meat and remove air from the freezer bag to ascertain freshness and longevity.
Tip #2: Use an extra wrapping layer when storing packaged items.
If you are fond of buying packaged frozen goods like turkey, bacon, and preserved poultry (all the best stuff!), you have to use an extra wrapping layer before storing them inside the freezer. Depending on the size of the item, you can opt to use a freezer bag (for smaller items), or a plastic wrap (for bigger items).
Tip #3: Do not forget to label the stored items for easy retrieval.
