Are you a pancake lover? If so, you may or may not be aware of how many delicious kinds of pancakes are out there. Yes, basic pancakes taste great with butter and syrup, but you don’t just have to stick with the basic recipe. There are also banana pancakes, peanut butter pancakes, wheat pancakes, blueberry pancakes, etc. Here I will show you how to make oatmeal pancakes.
Oatmeal pancakes are tasty and a little healthier than their basic counterparts because they also have oatmeal that adds fiber and other nutrients. Fortunately, there are just as easy to make. In order to make this recipe, you will need the following ingredients:
1/3 cup of oatmeal
2/3 cup of flour
1 tablespoon of sugar
1/4 teaspoon of salt
a dash of cinnamon
1/3 cup of milk
1 tablespoon of oil
and 2/3 cup of water
Mix together all the dry ingredients first in a bowl. This includes the oatmeal, flour, sugar, salt, and cinnamon. Mix them together thoroughly. Pour the remaining wet ingredients in a separate bowl and mix it all together. Make sure there are no egg clumps. Lightly beat the egg before adding it in to avoid this. Now you can pour the wet ingredients directly into the dry ingredients and mix them together. Be careful not to beat the batter too much. You’ll get nice, fluffy pancakes if you mix the batter just enough.
Cook the pancakes on a hot, lightly greased griddle as you normally would. Flip them after tiny bubbles pop up across the pancakes. Make sure they are golden brown on each side of the pancakes.
You can serve them traditionally with butter and warm syrup, or you can add your favorite toppings. You can also add berries or nuts into the batter. Blueberry oatmeal pancakes are an extra delicious treat that you should try out.
